Created attachment 102185 [details] Screenshot of Desktop Settings After recent update to 5.8.3 in KDE Neon Stable, I can no longer change my desktop background. All I get are two wallpaper type options (see attached) and I have no idea what they even mean.
It is the same for me. I'am also an plasma 5.8.3 with neon. Changing the "wallpaper type" does seem to make any difference either. But I don't know what they mean anyway.
All neon packages were rebuilt due to a security issue, see https://www.kde.org/info/security/advisory-20161114-1.txt Please update all packages and check if this also resolves the Wallpaper issue. If not, please try with a freshly created user account.
You're missing the image wallpaper plugin. That's an installation or downstream (distribution) issue.
I updated all packages and installed the package "plasma-workspace-wallpapers" and "kdewallpapers". "plasma-wallpapers-addons", "kde-wallpapers", "kde-wallpapers-default", "kdeartwork-wallpapers" and "kdeartwork" are already installed. Have I missed the actual responsible package? So far nothing has changed. A new user did not help either.
This is a bug on our side. Sorry.
Yup, still same problem after all latest updates from KDE Neon. On the last update, Plasma decided to replace one background on one of my monitor to the default bright rainbow one, and now I am stuck with a wallpaper that I cannot change.
Ok after today's update, it's fixed for me.
Yes, it's working again :) Thanks to whoever fixed it.
