I have a wish to hide the menu bar. One main reason is to free up space, and because many KDE apps provide this option, including kate, kwrite, and other katepart apps, excluding Kile.

Here are some other apps that allow hiding: Dolphin, KMail, Konsole, Okular, Kate, KWrite, KAddressBook, and so on.

May I kind re-request this wish? Also because now ctrl+alt+i gives full access to menus without the menu, and you could even add an "open menu" button to the toolbar as Dolphin and other apps have.
