Description Martin Jost 2002-01-16 20:18:21 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: noatun
Version: 1.2.0 (using KDE 2.2.1 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.7-4GB
OS/Compiler notes:

I would like to see a button or hotkey to start the id3 editor in noatun. (Maybe both user settable)
Right now I have to go through right-click/actions/edit ID3 tag

This is quite much id the editor is to be started often...

Thank you for your bug report/feature request.

However I won't be implementing this because it breaks a number of
abstractions and the plugin-architecture.

Configurable hot keys (CHKs) - many kde programs already have them - is a feature that I also miss very much in noatun! If that breaks plugin-architecture: Make only non-plugin keys hotkey-able or extend the plugin-architecture... CHKs would also enable me to use my remote control for noatun (using irxevent, NOT the "remote control plugin" which grabs the events even if noatun is not the active window, that overrides my existing irxevent-configuration)
Comment 3 Stefan Gehn 2003-12-27 12:55:36 UTC
This might be possible by using XMLGUI and having it accessible for plugins as well, something like this is used in Kopete already.
Comment 4 Christoph Feck 2012-07-02 16:25:31 UTC
noatun has not been part of the KDE 4 release and is no longer maintained.

KDE now offers Dragon as a video player and JuK as a music player. Additionally, other popular KDE players have been ported to KDE 4, such as Amarok or Kaffeine.

If this issue is still applicable to KDE 4 applications, please add a comment or file a new report.
