Image showing inconsistent display of captions in caption edit tab

Only captions which end in a newline are editable in the caption field of the caption tab.

The field appears empty when the caption does not end in a newline.

Caption appears as non-editable text in the Properties tab, DigiKam properties area.

Have just upgraded to 5.2 from 4.13 on osx.

Please see attached exaple images. The '67 Begonias' is the one where the caption dose not appear in caption editing tab. Sorry image descriptions are wrong.

Your caption is stored under a different language (zu-ZA). See screenshot.

Thanks for looking. It's my mum's computer and I'm not there right now, but there seems to be something different happening for herswith the choices in that menu...

reply :
I did look at it. What I just sent was incorrect they all have xh-ZA, where did the zu_HA come from on the bugs fly? there is no option of that

reply 2:
i am going mad! they all seem to have tn_ZA now. no zu _ZA option

Reply 3:
there are 3 ZAs; tn-ZA xh-ZA and af-ZA. all the captions are tn-ZA. there is no zu-ZA in the drop down menu. when i change to any other the captions dont appear in the Caption box

Can you reproduce the problem using digiKam Linux AppImage bundle ? The last
