The update on the windows preview breaks once hovered over a task of an media player.

Just open a terminal (e.g. Konsole) and then run plasmashell (you might need to quit the currently running one before by typing kquitapp5 plasmashell) and then post the output here. It might show some QML warnings or errors that might be helpful finding the cause of the problem. Thanks!

Good news!
I cannot reproduce anymore in Plasma 5.8.5.
But I also got new kernel, llvm and Mesa since...

IIRC I tried this simple method, but there wasn't any output on hover action. (and I didn't post since I didn't know if this was the right approach)
