Thanx to this ppa deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/philip5/extra/ubuntu/ xenial main
I'v got gwenview with kipi plugins on kubuntu 16.04 but why those plugins are less powerfull than the previous ones distributed with kde4/digikam4? the most missing feature is batch processing of selected files, for example resizing. Now gwenview has no such usefull feature.

I'v heard that maybe gwenview developers restricted (for some reason) the features to only some subset of them?

P.

Reproducible: Always

Gilles, have some plugins been removed from the KF5 port (or not yet ported)?
Comment 2 caulier.gilles 2016-10-29 14:14:10 UTC
Some are removed due to lack of maintainer
Some are not yet ported.
Typically, all export to web service tools are here. Now, kipi-plugins will be focused on these features only. No more.

Sad ;-). The mostly used (by me) feature of kipi-plugins in gwenview was batch resizing. I know digikam can do this, but with gwenview it was just faster.

Exactly. Really sad.

This is unpleasant surprise for me as well :-(

I'm not using this feature often, but from time to time it was really usefull. Now I have to use convert from imagemagick as I don't want to use digikam :-(

Current kipi-plugins is useless for many people who used it previously. Gwenview+Kipi was powerful and convinient tool for batch processing.

Is it planning to backport (from digikam source code) or add similar functionality (as imagemagick frontend) like batch resizing, rotating, adding borders (as for single image) etc. to gwenview?
Comment 7 Nate Graham 2017-11-09 20:07:45 UTC
Batch-processing is tracked with https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=178532

Please feel free to file new bugs to track additional functionality that you would like added to the Gwenview itself
