Description Stefan 2016-10-25 06:23:50 UTC
I am trying to use digikam as the one and only photo organisation tool. Unfortunatelly my wife is using windows and I am using linux. All the photos are stored on a cifs share (NAS). Digikam uses external mysql server to be able to use the same "metadatadase" on both systems. But I cannot find a way to add the cifs share with the same name so that the versions of digikam use the same folders. One problem is, that the \\ in windows world are not useable in linux.

So please add a solution to map the different notations.

Exact same situation here. Sharing Digikam's database among multiple operating systems would be a great feature!

I have the same situation, i'm using multiple Computers in my family network with Linux and Windows. After browsing FAQs and mailinglist, i didn't find any way to solve the problem. I've been looking for a universal solution (sharing Thunbnailsdatabase in Network for Linux and winows) for years and now only this issue keeps me away from a perfect solution. I'm sure, there are various Situations, where this issue ist an obstacle so please provide a solution.
Thank you

Same issue here. Windows and OSX. Photos stored on a NAS. Database also.
Sharing this database from both OS would be fantastic and give Digikam a hell of an USP!!!
