Sometimes there's a need for couple of layers to be connected to each other but they can't be merged or moved into one group, because they should remain on their specific places in the Layer's hierarchy. Here's image example: https://lut.im/thMjz4F7rD/zCbsjugFORZV9Hlo.png I have one object (hair) divided into two layers. First one is a forelock and it's top layer, since it's covering parts of the face, body and clothes. Second one is the rest of the hair, which is hanging behind the whole body, so it's placed at the bottom (not counting background layer). So there's no easy way to manipulate with these layers right now. If you want to move whole hair you need to manually select both layers and move them. If you want to transform them at the same time you need to create a group, put both of them there, transform them in the group and then put them back into their places. Also you'll need to set things like opacity and visibility individually for each layer. What I would like to see is an "Link" option in dropdown menu in Layers docker. It should be somewhat similar to grouping layers but while leaving them in their places. When highlighted, layer and all linked to it layers would be marked with an icon. When trying to move or apply transformation to one layer, you'll be manipulating with all linked to it layers at the same time. Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce
Created attachment 101733 [details] Image saved from link I agree that something like this could be useful, but it would need a very good UX design. It's not something we'll get down any time soon, either.
Not perfect, but good enough feature, would be to allow transform tools to operate on all selected layers in Layer Panel. Transforming groups is nice, but not always applicable. Transforming only one layer is not just limiting, but also misleading with multiple selection.
Yes. It would be great transforming selected layers. It will be a huge improvement in drawing workflow.
This works now for the move tool, but for the transform tool we haven't had time to implement that.
Regarding the multiple selected layers option, I consulted with Dmitry and he said that yes, there should be no more technical difficulties than just creating a preview. It could be possible to make it work on all color labeled layers, too. (Which is, I think, closer to what the original reporter wanted - considering it's more persistent than selecting layers). In any case, it's on my TODO list, however I'm not sure if and when I will be able to implement this. It's high priority though - people often ask about it on reddit etc. If someone wants to take it and they are not sure how to implement it, I can help if needed.

The feature has been implemented in Krita 5.x :)
