Description Kristian 2016-10-23 21:17:30 UTC
My language settings in KDE are set to German and digikam is mostly displayed in German with some minor English menus. However, TimeAdjust tool is in Norwegian.

Languages in KDE system settings:
1. German
2. British English
3. Norwegian
4. French

While it might be the case that the German translation is missing, I wondering why it's not shown in English instead, but in Norwegian.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open BQM
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Norwegian menu.

Expected Results:
Full German translation (with English as fallback).

There is no reason for that. BQM timeadjust tool i18n catalog is merged with whole digikam catalog.

Perhaps do you have the old kipi-plugin timeadjust tool installed on your computer ?

I don't know. This is what I've installed:

extra/kipi-plugins 5.2.0-1 [installed]
A collection of plugins extending the KDE graphics and image applications as digiKam
extra/libkipi 16.08.2-1 [installed]
An interface to use kipi-plugins from a KDE application

I found another Norwegian word for Version (Versjon), see attachments.

Well, i have no idea.

Perhaps you mix digiKAm 4 and digiKam 5 on your system.

A good test will be to check how digiKam AppImage will work on your computer in this kind of situation. Bundle file is here :

Take a care, it still in beta stage. Problem can remain with this bundle. Try this one with a test collection and with a test account on your computer.

I didn't try the image yet, but with a test account and a brand new configuration, the BQM menu is English. Apparently, this is a configuration issue with my regular account. Do you know where to start searching?

The settings about i18n is complex in KDE. So i have no idea where to search about this problem.

At least the problem is not located in digiKam as well...
