Reproduce: I'm working using the same tools constantly, sometimes the last action has been to select, to close without save, to undo... frecuent actions without problem.... Actual Results: krita crash suddenly with a windows notification: "the program stopped working correctly" I'm using windows 10. The windows problem solver solves nothing and it is not a compatibility problem. I never have had the problem with other programs. I have cleaned my computer of all posibles rest of older versions and I have reinstaled krita in a new windows user. I have also reinstaled the drives of my tablet. I've worked disabling the autosaves, the OpenGL and the progress reporting. I have not get better results. In adition, sometimes krita does not save, it remains saving eternally but never does it (in 3.0.1.9) I have the crash problem months ago. I hope the reports from dr.ming will be the solution. I keep all of them, I don't know how I can attach them. Thank you!
Hey, thank you very much for these reports! Fortunately, these are two different crash reports. Which makes sense, because you've been having crashes with different actions. It might be there's more different causes. It would be really useful if you could keep using Krita like this and with each crash report you get, add it to this bugreport. If you can also add what the last action was you were doing before the crash happened, that'd be useful as well. Then we can figure out which crash correlates to which action :) You can add attachments with the 'add an attachment' above the comment box, but pasting the report into a comment is fine as well. I'm having many difficulties with krita-3.0.91-x 64-setup.exe. Several times it freezes when I start to work and twice it has crashed (reports attached) Steps before blocked: 1. Open a work with more than 20 layers 2. Zoom 3. Select a layer 4. Rotate canvas 5. Use eraser 6. Undo Steps 3 to 6 can be in a different order Then Krita freezes with the cursor endless spinning and I have to close it (krita don't crash). But not always it freezes.

All those actually look like the same thing :-(. I'm still not able to reproduce. Do you have any security software like sandboxie installed?
No, I don't have sandboxie or other security software similar. I have only some anti-malaware sofwares but they are not active
I have reinstalled K-3.0.91-x64, but I have cleaned before all previous traces in my computer and now it is going much better, softer and quicker, and it has not frozen again. This is not the first great cleaning I do, but at the moment all is working good, I'm going to be testing it.

I have the option 'Dodge' on the toolbar so the process was fast. Then I clicked on 'save' and the window 'saving document' remained always working and I had to close the tab without saving (this happens sometimes but I have not been able to find a common cause). Then the cursor stays endeless spinning and, although I can do other actions, krita does not save anything. This time, closing the program, it frozen and came out the attachment report.

This happens too frequently without having found a common cause. If I close the window "saving document" the cursor remains endless spinning and it not save anything. I had this same problem in 3.0.1.90 In this case I can not get dr.mingw report because krita don't crash. I can only get reports from windows Debugger - file attached - Is this report useful?

Hm, and duplicate layer really should be instant!
Usually any action is instantaneous. Only occasionally something slows down, as if it will cost to process the information. I've also noticed that when I work with several open tabs the problems are more frequent.
Yes, that's my same hang on saving problem, but I always work with large files (A3, A4 300dpi) and not always happen. Sometimes everything is perfect and sometimes it happens frequently (I usually save the work pressing the icon on the toolbar) In my case I think krita crash from 3.0 (not totally sure) but the hang on saving happen only in 3.0.1.90 and 3.0.91, so now I try not to save frecuently and when krita crash I rescue the autosaved (I have reduce the autosave time :)

But the autosave not always works
For the hang on saving, please try 3.0.92 -- that has a very experimental fix.

I found something useful. It hangs on saving only when there is text on. All the times I've tried it with and without text it happen the same thing.

In 3.0.91 hang in savings seems more random, it does not depend on whether or not there is text
But in 3.0.92, there shouldn't be any hang on saving: the code that can cause that isn't there anymore, and I stress-tested it just now, and even though I managed to confuse Krita into running two strokes at the same time, and thus hanging, it could save.
The difference between 3.0.91 and 3.0.92 is that in 3.0.92 does not appear the small window "saving document". When there is text in the document and I click on the save button, the cursor remains spinning and don't stop
but I'm noticing that in 3.0.91 not always appear that small window of "saving document'

With large files (A3 300dpi many layers) the problem is almost always, it takes too long to save and then hangs or crash. With small files I have not had any problems but I usually work with large files so I return to 3.0.91
Most of the problems on saving in 3.0.93 are "saving as" from auto-save files, not exclusively, but in these cases is almost always, at least in large documents. But in 3.0.93 there is not problem saving when there is text on the document as in 3.0.92
One thing I've noticed is that cleaning all krita remnants on the computer and starting with a new workspace any version works better, not specific problems but crash and hung with no apparent commun reason are very scarce after that thorough cleaning. But afterwards, with more use of the program, they are more frecuently. So I thinking if it is possible that some things are accumulating in the registry that causes those crashes and hungs with apparent nonsense. In the same way I have noticed that it is not the same to try a new version downloading it on the previous one than starting from scratch with a new workspace.

I was wrong, crash problems continue in 3.094 but more sporadically (and there is not hang problems on saving). I use this version because 3.1.1 breaks more frequently.

Hi Maria, The last crash suggests a problem with opengl, and the one before with a specific jpeg image. It would be useful if you would do your tests with the nightly builds, which have debug symbols: that makes it easier to see what is going on. I have tried to install that version but I get this error message: "The program can not start because libgcc_s_seh-1.dll is missing on the computer"
I'm sorry, Maria, but this is now quite old, and we've never been able to figure out what was going on. If you still have problems with the latest release (4.1.0 from tomorrow), please create a new bug report. But there just isn't anything we can do with this report right now, though you have spent so much effort helping us out. I'm really sorry!
