Description markuss 2016-10-17 02:32:41 UTC
I have a LUKS crypt setup. Using the Plymouth Breeze theme, no text input field is shown. I have to hit ESC and enter the password in text mode.

Reproducible: Always

I am confirming the bug, experiencing it too.

No need to hit [Esc], the password can be typed blindly. But yeah, from plain black screen one can not tell it it is waiting for the password or just hung.

Please get in touch with your distribution, this is an integration issue. Password queries are meant to go through a standardized system which is behaving correctly as per our test https://github.com/KDE/breeze-plymouth/blob/master/test/plytest.sh#L59

I'm also experiencing this problem.

As a related note, this bug is a clone of Bug 367818 - Password textfield is not visible when using dm-crypt
