Description Cyril Giraud 2016-10-15 08:57:54 UTC
Configuration:
. Ubuntu Studio 15.10 x64
. Kdenlive 15.08.1, KDE 5.15.9, Qt 5.4.2
. xrdp 0.6.1
. rdesktop 1.8.3

How to reproduce the problem:
. rdesktop -g 1272x992 localhost
. launch kdenlive --> empty project defaulting to clip monitor, display zone not refreshed
. clic on project monitor --> kdenlive freezes
Executing the same action on local host works fine (same software configuration).

Of course working locally through rdesktop has no operational interest, but this is the simply way to reproduce this annoying bug for users that would like to use remotely a shared huge PC.

Please test latest version and let us know... if fixed mark as solved.

Booting with USB Stick (no-mode-set):
. Ubuntu Studio 16.10 x64
. Kdenlive 16.04.3
. xrdp 0.9.0
. rdesktop 1.8.3
The problem is more accurate:
. rdesktop -g 1272x992 localhost
--> rdesktop windows opens, but never draws Ubuntu menu. So I guess a problem around xrdp or rdesktop.

I tried the same with old Ubuntu Studio 15.10 x64 USB stick (no-mode-set), and got different symptoms (than my Ubuntu Studio 15.10 x64 production PC):
. rdesktop -g 1272x992 localhost # ok
. launch kdenlive --> GUI never appears
(kdenlive GUI works fine in local session)

(My HW gots an AMD GPU, and oroduction PC includes proprietary AMD drivers).

Sorry for this unclear status...
Does somebody could report a working status on those operations?

I don't see how we can fix a remote desktop issue...??
