Description Roman Lebedev 2016-10-13 11:18:17 UTC
Hi.
Please don't get me wrong :)
I place screen locker button on panel, located at the bottom of the screen, at the very right corner.
Previously, i was able to just move the mouse all the way to bottom-right corner of the screen, left-click and the screenlocker would engage.
Now, it no longer works :(
If i move the mouse ll the way to bottom-right corner of the screen, the screenlocker button no longer captures the focus.
Instead, i have to actually take care to place the mouse on top of screenlocker button, and only then left-click...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. add panel to the bottom of the screen
2. add screenlocker button to the very right edge/corner of the panel
3. move mouse all the way to bottom-right corner of the screen, left-click

Actual Results:
screenlocker button does not capture the focus and does not lock the screen

Expected Results:
screenlocker button should capture the focus and lock the screen
That is what it used to do before.

Can you include a screenshot of your setup please.

A screenshot, the bottom sidepanel only

Or do you want the whole screen?
Comment 3 Christoph Feck 2016-10-14 00:59:43 UTC
Reproduced on master. The org.kde.plasma.lock_logout widget has a bottom margin, which does not react to clicks.
Comment 4 Marco Martin 2016-10-18 11:34:21 UTC
can't reproduce in either 5.8.0 or master
Comment 5 David Edmundson 2016-10-21 00:56:39 UTC
It could be this: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370413
Comment 6 Alexander Mentyu 2018-03-02 15:47:04 UTC
Can't repeat in:

Plasma: 5.12.2
Apps: 17.12.2
Frameworks: 5.43.0
Qt: 5.10.1
Kernel: 4.14.22-1-MANJARO
OS: Netrunner Rolling
Video: Intel 4400
xf86-video-intel 1:2.99.917+812+g75795523-1
Screen: 1600x900

With or without compositor enabled

Still happens with current debian sid.
It's really pixel-perfect sensitivity problem.
It seems you need to point basically at the very edge of the screen. If you are off by at least one pixel, it will get focus and will lock.

Maybe you have some actions set for screen corners in Screen Edges system settings?

Could you please also try to change Compositor settings - disable or enable it - and try to reproduce the problem

Do have to re-login after changing the setting?
Without re-login, the issue remains after i enable the compositor.

I've tried the lock/logout applet and I can flick my mouse to the bottom right of my screen and click it and I get the logout window.

Can you please test and confirm if this issue is still occurring or if this bug report can be marked as resolved.

I've set the bug status to "needsinfo" pending your response, please change back to "reported" or "resolved" when you respond, thanks.

Aha, I know what this is: a bug I just fixed for Plasma 6. See the duplicate.
