Description Rajinder Yadav 2016-10-10 10:40:50 UTC
I have a Bose OE SoundLink headset, when I first turn it on, I will sometimes not get a connections, I head a beep on my headset and one of two things will happen.

1. I don't get any audio
2. I get audio but it sounds very low, using the volume control it still sounds low.

What I am forced to do is manually disconnect using the control panel icon on the toolbar and then connect again.

Also when I stop listening, the headset after sometime will auto disconnect, when I start to play audio of a video I don't hear audio and I am forced to disconnect and connect manually.

~:$ bluetoothctl --version
5.37

~:$ bluetoothd --version
5.37

Reproducible: Always

Is anyone looking at this issue? This happens to me on a fresh install of kubuntu 16.04.01

This is most probably issue in BlueZ. You can confirm it by removing your audio device from known devices, disabling Plasma Bluetooth integration (from KCM Bluetooth -> Advanced) and then trying to connect to the device with "bluetoothctl".

I've tried this, same issue.

Once the headset is trusted, paired and connected, when I turn off the headset and then turn it on, the connection takes place but the volume is lower.

Using bluetoothctl, I then disconnect and reconnect and the volume is louder as at the previous level it should be at.

Is there a way to get the volume level using bluetoothctl? so I can isolate the problem with the volume level.
Comment 5 David Rosca 2016-10-24 11:01:30 UTC
No, volume controls pulseaudio.
Comment 6 Rajinder Yadav 2016-10-24 11:09:27 UTC
OK then it seems after using your suggestion there is an issue with volume level changing when turning the device off and then on again. Also I am unable to get the correct max volume again.
Comment 7 David Rosca 2016-10-24 11:13:54 UTC
In that case, please report the bug against BlueZ/PulseAudio.
