adding a program in autostart do not lead to its launching at start. Test on Thunderbird, Firefox, Dolphin... Changing thunderbird %u to /usr/bin/thunderbird in the menu of kcm_autostart solved the problem. This bug occurs after updating from plasma 5.7.5 to 5.8
Working fine here, Neon unstable. Now be mindful of the extra "options" like %u, in my case when i added firefox to auto start it would also open www.%u.com.
Can you try again in Plasma 5.20 once it's released in two months or so? This KCM was rewritten and we believe this issue is fixed now.
