Description xdoomdog 2016-10-05 16:35:48 UTC
I enabled the remote desktop feature, and the system prompted me to install xorg-x11, which I did, once the installation was finished, I tried installing a new pkg, but the Software Management service would not come up and stay up; same behavior was observed for the Online Update service.

However, if I open a Konsole terminal, become root, and then launch yast2, then both the Software Management, and Online Update both work. If I tried this by launching yast from the UI, these services do not work as expected. I have logged out and logged back in, rebooted the system, and none of those actions seem to fix the problem.

Glad there's a work-around, but it's a bit annoying. I'm using openSuSE Leap 42.1 in Kde plasma mode.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enable Remote Desktop
2. Accept to install xorg-x11 if you don't have it installed already
3. Try launching the Software Management or Online Update services

Actual Results:
Neither of those services stay up for my environment.

Expected Results:
The software should have launched either one of the services listed above

I have Dell Precision Tower 5810 with a dual monitor setup, and I have installed the 64-bit Nvidia driver, and I'm running openSuSE Leap 42.1. This is a brand new installation of the Linux distro, and enabling remote desktop was the very first thing I did after installing the Nvidia drivers, nothing else was going on at the same time.
