Description Hans-Peter Guggenbichler 2016-10-04 07:03:01 UTC
After upgrading to kubuntu 16.10 beta2 the greeter won't come up. Starting sddm or lightdm brings up the greeter and from that on everything is fine. kdm is not installable on my system. sddm and lightdb I didn't find here. So reporting this for kdm. Please move this to the correct package. Is kdm gone?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start system
2. the glowing "Kubuntu" is shown
3. the glowing "Kubuntu" disappears. A cursor is shown in the top left corner of the screen
4. nothing else happens.

Actual Results:
ctrl-alt-f1 brings up tty and I can logon and call ssdm or lightdm manually.

Expected Results:
greeter starts automatically

In /etc/X11/default-display-manager there was 'lightdm' specified. I changed this to sddm and now the greeter starts

kdm is gone, yes.
