Description Gamblit 2016-09-29 03:34:58 UTC
On login to KDE, some of my screens (running triple head) flicker the desktop icons and widgets ( but not the taskbar panel) for a few seconds. The screens that flicker end up with a black background, instead of my usual background image. Right clicking on one of those screens will do nothing (on a working screen it shows a menu).

Not all screens flicker, sometimes its one, sometimes two, but never all three.

After the flickering ends i need to "kquitapp plasmashell; kstart plasmashell" on a console to get my desktop back to a proper working condition.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login

Actual Results:
Missing background, desktop icons and widgets. Heavy flickering.

Expected Results:
Show proper desktop.

Running NVidia Quadro K2000M with proprietary drivers (happens in multiple driver versions).

As i restarted again I saw it flickering the three screens.

I've had this problem for months and can't remember ever seeing the three screens flicker. Murphy on the lookout...

This area has changed a lot in recent plasma.

Can you confirm if this happens with 5.8.5 or ideally even Plasma 5.9.

Just to let you know I've read your comment but recently changed houses and haven't setup the displays yet. Will come back with an answer as soon as I do.

I've tried it two or three times and I can no longer replicate it.

I still have all kinds of multi-screen problems, but this specific one seems to be resolved
