Description smithtrombone 2016-09-22 19:17:33 UTC
Krita crashes or sends an error message in MS Windows 10 when exporting single images and when exporting animations. The problems happen with these formats:

--OpenRaster image
program freezes, no response

--GIF image
error message says "internal error".

--all video formats
error message says "Could not find ffmpeg binary. Saving to video formats is impossible."

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open new image or existing image in Krita
2. choose either export or export animation option
3. save under one of the formats listed in the details

Actual Results:
Krita either crashes or sends error messages depending on the format chosen.

Expected Results:
Krita should be able to export to these formats with no problem.

Video formats and gif might be possible because of the broken animation export, which is fixed in 3.0.2, but I don't know why ora would hang.

3.0.1 shouldn't even have the export animation plugin...

What kind of image are you trying to export to openraster? I mean, which color model, channel depth, image size, number of layers. If you have saved that image to .kra, can you share it with us so we can test?

We need more information to be able to investigate what's up: the export options work fine for me on all operating systems. Please try the latest latest beta (3.0.1.90, but 3.0.91 will be released today or tomorrow). If you can reproduce the issue, please reopen the bug and attach a .kra file that will not export to the formats you have tried.

I think my original bug report wasn't clear enough. I tried exporting with many different configurations of color models, channel depths, image sizes, and layers and none of them worked. It's true that, at least for the video formats, I was using the wrong version (3.0.1), but there weren't any specific conditions that had to be met for Krita to error/crash with these formats.

I'm not using Windows anymore in favor of Linux with KDE so I'm not sure how much I can do to help anymore.
