Description Fred Wells 2016-09-21 13:20:19 UTC
When Kmail2 is set to show launcher when not running and the user clicks on the idle launcher, they are always prompted for an application. Upon selecting kmail application, it launches both with the main page and new mail composition page.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch Kmail
2. Enable "Show A Launcher When Not Running" in Icons-only task manager
3. Launch Kmail

Actual Results:
Always prompted to select application. Upon selecting kmail, it launches both with the main page and new mail composition page.

Expected Results:
kmail should launch as normal.

Fred, what is the most recent version you experienced this with? Did you try an even newer version of KMail where the launcher worked as expected? Does this only happen with KMail itself, or also with Kontact? Is the mail composer completely empty when it opens, or does it have a file attached or something like that?

I believe I have the latest version, kmail-16.12.3-1.fc25.x86_64.

This only happens if I first launch KMail, then click 'PIN' in IOTM. If I instead drag the non-running KMail icon from the desktop or launcher to IOTM, it works fine.

I don't see the behavior with Kontact.

Presently, upon selecting KMail when prompted, I see only the Composer, which appears to behave normally - not completely empty in that it contains only the From: address as expected.

The most recent version is 17.04.1 (should actually be 5.5.1), but I guess 16.12.3 (actually 5.4.3) is recent enough.

Thank you for the quick respond and the new information.
