It is strait-forward to double click on filter layers to open their properties, but right now double click whenever I click on a layer would turn on editing of a layer's name and the only way to open properties(actually three, but all of them are similar in that way they are dealing with that layer indirectly) is to press another key(hotkey or a button in the docker's bottom or a right click and finding a property item in a popup menu). Same applies to the normal layers as well. Reproducible: Always
This change of behaviour would be disputable, it definitely needs more discussion before it can be implemented.

In the manual Filter Masks — Krita Manual 5.0.0 documentation there is a sentence that states: “You can edit the settings for a filter mask at any time by double clicking on it in the Layers docker.” Using Krita 5.0 Beta 2, this is non-existent, instead it prompts to rename a layer. As far as double clicking for properties, for layer filters, there definitely is space to implement a hitbox on the filter icon itself to go to the properties. For regular layers, the preview thumbnail could become the hitbox to go to the properties. @Tiar, the discussion could be continued here (https://krita-artists.org/t/double-click-on-layer-filter-mask-to-edit-settings/31801), I suppose.
