Whenever I click on a link that is included in an email, kmail's ui breaks as shown in the pictures. The message list seems to be half duplicated into the message area. However, the position of the elements seems to be where it is supposed to be. If you remember the position of the "No HTML message" bar for example, you can click on it, even if it seems that you are clicking on the duplicated message list. This is independent of the layout. If I choose to heave the message page below the message list, then again the message list is duplicated in the same way into the message pane. The only way I have found to resolve this is by restarting KMail. Reproducible: Always
Same for me. I've found a solution to reproduce this bug. KDE / System Settings / Display and Monitor / Scale Display: => If set to 1, the bug dos not exist. => If set to another value, this bug is existing, additionally another bug with displaced click-position of the links. My configuration: KDE Plasma 5.8.4 KDE Framework: 5.29.0 Qt: 5.7.0 Kernel: 4.8.4-1 Os: OpenSuse Tumbleweed 20161219 Graphic Information: Intel Open Source Technology Center Renderer: Mesa DrI Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 (Skylake GT2) Open GL: 3.0 Mesa 13.0.2
Can confirm the bug on my system. However does not seem to happen always for me. Interesting observation by CisBug that this is related to Scale Display (which I use, set to 2). I do not use a scale factor when connecting an external monitor, but cannot remember if it ever happened then. Will be attentive. is this bug ever going to be fixed? i can reproduce consistently with scale 2X.

Marked 377764 as a duplicate of this bug. However, I can see this bug on KDE Neon without any scaling at all.
I can confirm this bug on my system - Arch Linux, KMail 5.4.3, display scaling == 2. It was not present without scaling.
