Description P.Otato 2016-09-14 08:08:06 UTC
Wanted to rename a file on the Desktop (Layout "Folder View"). When I left-clicked in the highlighted text area to set the cursor the file is opened.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Change Wallpaper Layout to "Folder View".
2. Set "Location" to a folder containing files and "Apply".
3. On the Desktop hover over a file icon and press right mouse button to open context menu.
4. Choose "Rename" and left-click in the highlighted text area under the file icon to change file name.

Actual Results:
File will be opened.

Expected Results:
File can be renamed without opening.

Tested in Plasma 5.7.4 in neon-devedition-gitstable-20160913-1047 and Plasma 5.5.5 in openSUSE Leap 42.1

Can't reproduce, probably fixed by the recent rewrite of the rename UI in master. Reopen if it persists with 5.8.

Problem seems to be fixed in Plasma 5.8 Beta. Thank you very much!
