Description Jonas Thiem 2016-09-13 10:59:41 UTC
The mouse pointer acceleration doesn't work for my trackpoint on a Thinkpad Yoga 260 laptop. However, there is no obvious alternative setting which would allow me to adjust the trackpoint speed. Therefore either there should be a "Trackpoint" entry, or the mouse device settings should successfully work on the trackpoint as well.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open system settings
2. Open "Input Devices" -> "Mouse"
3. Click tab "Advanced"
4. Change Pointer acceleration and click "Apply"

Actual Results:
Even when going from 1.0 to 20.0, there is no noticeable difference in pointer speed

Expected Results:
Pointer speed adjustment works

I would be happy to provide logs or any other output info about the input devices or whatever you want to request if this is a bug and it isn't working for some unknown reason.

It would be nice if the KDE mouse settings could be applied per-device. That would allow the Trackpoint, a normal wireless mouse, and a hi-res gaming mouse to have separate settings. It could be tied to the USB device ID, assuming Xorg and Wayland don't have a better way to uniquely identify different pointing devices.

Hello! This Bugzilla ticket concerns support for the non-Libinput version of the Mouse page, which is no longer supported in Plasma 6. As such, the ticket will be closed as fixing or implementing what's requested here is now out of scope.

Thanks for your understanding!
