Description arne anka 2016-09-09 21:01:56 UTC
after the latest update, the thunderbird icon has disappeared from the systray -- i only get the "new mail" icon, when there are unread mails, but once all mails have been marked as read, thunderbird is invisible.
if you where to click, right click produces the contexst menu, but you have to know where to click, since there's no indication whatsoever. changing the icon does not help.

additionally, in
systray's settings -> Entries
there's an entry without name or description, that probably belongs to thunderbird (at least, it's the only one i cannot link to an icon).

see attached screenshot:
- the upper red rectangle marks the anonymous entry
- the lower red rectangle marks the place where the invisible thunderbird entry resides

Reproducible: Always

How do you get a system tray icon for thunderbird?

Using plasma 5.9 in kde neon unstable and the FireTray extension (I guess that's how you have a thunderbird system tray icon) it works ok. Both message count and empty inbox icons show up in the system tray and in the system tray settings.

Is this still an issue?

seems to be fixed now.
