When I open a chat window with someone I get the "Handler no longer available" error and the chat window has all the controls visible, but the field for entering the text is missing. It happens only when I open the first chat window. When I then click on the same contact again, it opens the window properly and all following clicks on any other contacts work OK - they add additional tabs to the chat window and chatting is possible. So only the first open of the window is bad. I googled a bit and found that libdbusmenu-qt is to blame here (probably). Is there anything that can be done with it? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open a chat window with any contact 2. the window opens, controls are visible, but the chat field is missing 3. when clicking on the contact again, the chat window opens correctly and chatting is possible Expected Results: The chatting should be possible from the first double-click on the contact.
The version is not available in the dropdown list, it is from the Neon repositories, so it says 15.12.3.
I have also been experiencing this issue on basically every version of Plasma 5.X in Kubuntu and the Neon. It seems that if ktp-text-ui is not running, the first call from either the ktp-contactlist or the instant messaging plugin fail to initialize the session. It just opens up an empty window. The same happens if a contact writes something to me, without me having opened a ktp-text-ui window -> i get a blank window.
I also experience this issue using Debian testing. I am running version *15.08.3* using: KDE Frameworks 5.28.0 Qt 5.7.1 (built against 5.7.1) The xcb windowing system Regards
I have the same issue with ktp-text-ui 15.12.3 running on KDE Neon and the following: KDE Frameworks 5.37.0 Qt 5.9.1 (built against 5.9.1) The xcb windowing system

I was about to submit exactly the same bug. KDE Frameworks 5.45.0 Qt 5.10.0 (built against 5.10.0) Chat Application version 15.12.3
