Description Olivier Becquaert 2016-09-05 19:19:12 UTC
I have move to plasma5 my machine.
I have started DIGIKAM 5.1.0 and I can recover all my faces in the "Person" section.
If I tag new faces then go back to the "Person" section, they do not appear...

my recognition.db is in .kde4/share/apps/digikam and I can see it has just been updated (according to date/time of the file).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open digikam
2. Tag face
3. go to "Person" section and look for my tag : only old taggued faces are displayed

Actual Results:
cannot see my new taggued faces

Expected Results:
my new taggued faces should be displayed

The migration has some problem from KDE4 to Plasma.

Nothing really difficult to do has moving DB files from older directly to new one is enough.

See this entry for details :

https://bugs.kde.org/showmy comment here_bug.cgi?id=364258

In fact move the my recognition.db from .kde4/share/apps/digikam where digikam4.db file is stored with digiKam 5.x (typically the path set in database setup page).

Thank you Gilles for your quick answer.

Here are the actions I've done :
- change in "Configuration" => "configure Digikam" => "database configuration" my path from ~/.kde4/share/apps/digikam to ~/.config
- it ask me if I want to move my database, I answer yes. it moves dikikam4.db and thumbnails-digikam.db to .config directory
- I manually move recognition.db to .config directory (it was'nt done automatically)
- close Digikam
- reopen Digikam
- tag a new photo
go to "People" section select my tag but the face does not appear in the list....

it's still not working for me....

Olivier

What I have done :
- goto "2016-09-septebmre" album
- select a photo
- tag a face woth "Papa" tag
- tag another face with "Olivier" tag
- go to "Person" section
- in "Papa" tag I can see the face I have taggued
- in "Olivier" tag I don't see the face I have taggued

Digikam debug trace

No error. The face database is loaded, contents is parsed properly.

But note that Face Database is the container for face histograms, used for recognition. this is not use to store face tags or face regions. All these info are stored in digikam4.db...

Okay...forget it !

actually my "Olivier" face tags have a lot of photos...and for a reason I ignore it displays album 216-09-Septembre before 2016-08-Août.

so I was not seeing the faces I have taggued in september....

sorry for that. I am going to have a look at this behavior but for sure there is no bug in Digikam.

Thank you Gilles for your support.

Olivier
