Description kalimerox 2016-09-03 17:10:46 UTC
When I safe a project in kdenilve 16.07.7 and then try to open it in 16.04.0 I get the error message: This project type is unsupported (version 0.95) and cant be loaded. please consider uprading kdenlive soon.

This really is a problem , because: As u try things in beta and then the beta freezes, there s no back up to work safe on the same crashing project again...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. safe session in 16.07.7
2.open session in 16.04
3.

Well, if the project was started in 16.04, you should have backup versions still available from the 16.04 times. You can open a backup version using "Project > Open backup file". When doing this from a blank project, you will see all existing backups, you then need to find the correct name/date.

The Kdenlive file format is changing from one version to another and backwards compatibility, like opening a Kdenlive 16.08 project with Kdenlive 16.04 is not something we are going to support
