Why nothing change for this request... X is aware of my 7 buttons mouse, why not QT and KDE ????????

I would really like to stress how far behind other window managers KDE is in this case. All other major window managers seem to support "any mouse button" as an option for various bindings. I hate to see KDE lacking in this usability area. With KDE, I was forced to use imwheel for the purpose of binding my 6 + 7th mouse button to do Workspace switching. Let's face it, this is something that the average KDE user should not have to do. Virtually every mouse sold today has at least 5 mouse buttons, and any sort of quality mouse tends to have at least 6. With the effort and work you guys have put into KDE, it is quite apparent that you genuinely care about usability on Linux compared to our evil nemesis, and this is a point of pressure on that front. Any mouse event that X supports, KDE should support as well... After all, shouldn't mouse support "just work"? Thanks!
I agree.. I used to use imwheel to bind those extra buttons to somewhere, but somewhy it doesn't work anymore even as I haven't changed any settings or something.. And IIRC there's another (or maybe more?) requests for support more than 3 mouse buttons globally in KDE, so maybe someone with permissions could mark this as dupe?
Updating to retain visibility. This is the oldest bug about this problem I could find, so someone please confirm this bug. Thanks, Wout.
48062 basically has turned into the same (it was a bit more narrow), and has more votes --- it's one of the most requested bugs; but please transfer your votes too, as bugzilla doesn't do this automatically *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 48062 ***
