Description sgeigel 2016-08-29 15:24:48 UTC
When Tree View is in a window, I can't move files in folders into other folders.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new file and a new folder
2. Pop Tree View out into another window
3. Try to move the file into the folder

Actual Results:
A "no" sign appears and the file cannot be moved

Expected Results:
File should still be able to move

Obvious work around is that I move the Tree View back into the main window. From there I can move files again.

I'm running Windows 7

To be sure I understand you correctly, you did:
1. start umbrello
2. You added a folder and an artifact in the tree view below Views->Component View ?
3. Then you popped the tree view into a separate window
4. Then you tried to move the artifact into the mentioned folder ?
Comment 2 sgeigel 2016-08-30 16:08:52 UTC
Yes. And for step 4, I was doing a click and drag. Just to clarify in case there is some other method of moving artifacts around that I'm not aware of.
Comment 3 Ralf Habacker 2016-08-31 06:13:56 UTC
I tried that with the 32bit and 64bit portable package of umbrello for Windows, but cannot find any behavior difference between docked and undocked tree view.
The only case seeing a 'no' sign is if I try to move the artifact to a folder not below the component view and also in this case there is no difference between docked and undocked tree view.
Did I miss something ?

There are related bug reports, for example https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-30276, but this one is already included in the Qt 4.8.6 (http://code.qt.io/cgit/qt/qt.git/commit/src/gui/kernel/qwidget_win.cpp?h=v4.8.6&id=a9edbeddafe5d8866192de44f4028d07bd93013a), which used to build the umbrello windows package (https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?project=windows%3Amingw%3Awin32&package=mingw32-libqt4).
As the bug could also be reproduced on linux, this seems to be a generic Qt4 problem.
