When I attempt to draw the brush freezes after I finish a line and lift my pen and only comes back if i start another line or go to my toolbar.

Reproducible: Always

Did you really use a Macports package, or did you download a dmg from krita.org? Is this problem fixed in the 3.0.1 dev build? https://krita.org/en/item/krita-3-0-1-beta-builds/

Please check the latest beta: http://download.kde.org/unstable/krita/3.0.91/krita-3.0.91.dmg and report whether the issue persists for you; I cannot reproduce it on my mac.
