Description frenchteddy 2016-08-25 13:32:32 UTC
This bug may be related to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365602, but I'm not sure, so I report a new one.

My computer has two nvidia-based video cards (latest nvidia driver) and 3 physical monitors ; each one is a separate X screen and xrandr is unavailable.

I'm currently running Ubuntu 2012 for 4 years because it has the last version of KDE to support my configuration (KDE SC 4.9.5).

Often since, I've tried to update to the last version with no success ; others like Gnome or LXDE works ok, but KDE does not.

Last weekend for the first time I had limited success, which lead me to the bug referenced at the top of this post.

I've installed the last Ubuntu with the last packages from the Neon unstable repository ; now KDE starts but with the following symptom:

- when KDE start all three monitors show the KDE logo but the two non-main monitors go quickly black
- the main monitor works OK, the other two are black but seems to be working "offscreen" : if I take a window and drag it to a second monitor, I see the "moving window" mouse cursor.

It feels like there's a black mask between the window and the mouse cursor. Unpluging or disabled the screen don't change anything.

How can I help debug this problem?

Thanks in advance

Using the "desktop cube" feature, I can see the cube on all 3 monitors, but the windows are invisible

I just discovered that if I uncheck "enable composer at startup", the 3 monitors works...

Is this bug still happening on newer Plasma versions?
