Description Peter 2016-08-24 20:13:43 UTC
Creating a fade effect using keyframes in the Volume (keyframable) effect results in one consistent level of volume which seems to match the last keyframe.

The spinner on the effect looks like its getting louder, but this has no effect on audio volume.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a project with audio
2. Slice off a section of the audio and apply a Volume (keyframable) effect
3. Create a keyframe at the end and then take the first keyframe down to -60

Actual Results:
Clip plays at volume of last keyframe.

Expected Results:
Clip slowly fades in over time.

This also exists in git version.

Screen capture of a bug in kdenlive "Volume" effect

The Volume effect is behaving strange at all. I've attached a screen capture of kdenlive, you can see that the real volume is somehow moved and do not correspond to where I have set the keyframes.

I don't know if both problems reported here are the same, but I've also experienced Peter's bug. It apparently doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, setting keyframes has not effect on the audio playback.
A weird temporary fix is as follows : when it happens, simply move the audio clip in another track, and the effect gets applied normally (you can then move back to the original track if you want). You may need to repeat if you change the keyframes or add some.

I confirm this in 16.08.1,

Volume keyframes were seriously broken. Should now be fixed in git and soon to be released 16.12
Comment 5 Vincent PINON 2017-03-08 10:23:48 UTC
Can you confirm that the bug is fixed?
Comment 6 Peter 2017-03-10 22:37:27 UTC
Yep, working on 16.12.2, thanks.
