Position of fullscreen windows are at half of height of screen, when using opengl backend(this happens especially for wine). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set backend to opengl 2. Run Wine game on fullscreen mode Actual Results: Window starts at half of screen Expected Results: Game starts as expected Intel graphics card, X.org graphical server, Lenovo Ideapad 100 laptop

when you use xrender backend that doesn't happen?
Repeat up: Xrender render window correctly.

These bugs might be related. I discovered playing Nexuiz with Kwin's Opengl backend works. I also noticed than setting opengl backend and exit any game brinks black desktop(panels are visible).
This issue report is quite old. Can you please confirm, that it still persists with KDE 5.23?
