A weekly reminder I had set-up before upgrading from Ubuntu 14 to 16.04 was failing to play the audio file. This was one of the standard alerts from usr/share/sounds which I had copied to another directory. When I tried to re-create the alert the file selector wouldn't see the file. However, I now notice that the file selector can now go to the "Computer" folder rather than being stuck in my home folder. So I went to usr/share/sounds and it doesn't see any of the .ogg files. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. set up an event 2. Select the reminder tab 3. Select the New option to add a reminder action 4. Select "Play sound file" 5. Go to any folder with .ogg files such as usr/share/sounds Actual Results: It sees folders in the directory but not any .ogg files Expected Results: It should see the list of files and allow them to be selected

It works fine here. I think it's a problem with gnome dialogbox which is used when we use gnome environment. could you verify with new version if it works for you ?
I still have the same problem. KOganizer version is KDE Frameworks 5.18.0 Qt 5.5.1 (built against 5.5.1) The xcb windowing system Ubuntu version is 16.04
I should point out that I am using this on a standard Ubuntu system. I haven't added a different destop which is what Gnome appears to be, unless what I have is just a different looking version of Gnome.
It's a very old version. And perhaps it's fixed in last version. Here it works fine. Not idea as I never used gnome.

Updating this as I have now updated the operating system Ubuntu 18 and re-installed KDEorganizer. The problem still exists with .ogg files, it just doesn't seem them even with the options in the bottom right corner set to display ogg files. But I now have a selection of .wav files which I can use.

Does this bug still affect you? When I use KOrganizer version 5.20.1 (22.04.1), the KDE Desktop's normal file browser shows .ogg files (see attachment). Are you using the Gnome desktop's file browser?
