Description mr.mahon.pl 2016-08-11 09:41:47 UTC
Whenever I start Digikam 5.1.0, it starts in fullscreen mode, with top menu and status bar disabled.
Each time I need to exit the fullscreen mode, and sometimes even enable the menu and status bar.

I cannot resize the window even if it's not in fullscreen mode anymore.
There is no system border around the window (just like in the fullscreen mode) , so no "close, maximize, minimize" icons.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch digikam
2. Exit fullscreen mode

Actual Results:
I cannot resize the window even if it's not in fullscreen mode anymore.
There is no system border around the window (just like in the fullscreen mode) , so no "close, maximize, minimize" icons.

Expected Results:
Application should not default to fullscreen mode.
Application window should be resizeable and have system border when not in fullscreen mode.

Linux mint 18
Digikam 5.1 installed from https://launchpad.net/~philip5/+archive/ubuntu/extra?field.series_filter=xenial

Maik,

You haven't fixed this problem with 5.1.0 ?

Not in fullscreen mode, yet still fullscreen

Although no longer in fullscreen mode, it still covers the whole screen, no window border, cannot be resized.

This problem must be missing KDE packages related, depending on the distribution. I do not see any icons, please install the Breeze icon theme. Probably still missing other KDE packages?

I had the breeze icon pack installed, just forgot to switch to it after reinstallation. Thanks for spotting it, I didn't even notice the icons were missing.

Regarding the KDE libraries, well, I installed the KDE enviroment (kubuntu-desktop) and nothing changed. Still, any additional windows HAVE borders and can be resized (see attachment) only the main one is missing them.

My main enviroment is Cinnamon and so far it used to work just fine with Digikam up to 5.0

Other Digikam windows have borders, except for the main one.

Here the "About Digikam" window displays properly, also dialogue windows can be resized. Only the main one is not quite right.

Is it possible that they have set in the window manager to use no border for digiKam. Works Alt + F3?

right Alt + F3 does the same as F3 - enables and disables preview wiew.
left Alt + F3 does nothing

and (if it matters) - the window cannot even be resized. I can "catch" the right bottom corner of the window but cannot move it.

Just installed Digikam 4.14 - just for comparison - and the frames, borders, and resizing are completely OK there.

Also Linux mint 18, Cinnamon edition.

After exiting full-screen

Linux Mint 18 64bit Cinnamon. Import window not visible until exiting full-screen. So the change from main window to import window and reverse happens after <Shift><Ctrl>F. And no status bar on import window.

Seems it's working fine now in 5.3.0
