Description KDE Neon user 2016-08-08 18:12:13 UTC
The latest update to KDE Neon made the Status & Notifications panel too transparent. It's hard to read the entries when you have a webpage like http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/ open under the panel.

Please make transparency optional or fine-tune the opacity value for it not to be so transparent.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a webpage or program with colorful graphics and text, like omgubuntu.co.uk
2. Open Status & Notifications

Actual Results:
Opacity level is too low, which makes it hard to use the panel.

Expected Results:
Panel shouldn't be transparent.

Note: I use the Breeze Dark theme.

Looks like background contrast effect is not enabled? Or gpu driver update broke it.

Please provide the output of qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin supportInformation

Your first guess was right. The effect was not fully active (see screenshot 2). I unchecked it and checked it again, and now it's fine again.

I hadn't touched any graphical settings though. That happened automatically with the lastest updates.
