Firefox bookmarks are excluded from the ALT + spacebar launcher, but not from the Application Launcher/KickOff start menu. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add some bookmarks to your Firefox profile and close Firefox 2. Open the System Settings 3. Open the Search preferences 4. Uncheck "Bookmarks" 5. Open the KDE Plasma Application Launcher/start menu (KickOff) 6. Type in "http" Actual Results: Your Firefox bookmarks will show up among the results. Expected Results: No bookmarks from any supported browser should appear in the list. My Firefox profile is in the default directory (~/.mozilla/firefox/xxxx.default/). The bookmarks correctly do not appear in the launcher that appears in the top of screen when you press ALT+spacebar.
I know that I have "Expand search to bookmarks, files and emails" checked in the Application Launcher/Start menu preferences, but shouldn't disabling bookmarks in the Plasma search preferences overwrite that? I still want to be able to search for files in the search menu, but exclude my bookmarks.

No, it doesn't overwrite it (perhaps it should!) I have the very same desire, namely to search for files with the applications launcher but not for bookmarks. I think the "Expand search to bookmarks, files and emails" should be divided in 3 different chechboxes (or more, ideally analogous to the Settings of Plasma Search)
For what its worth the code deliberately uses separate runners. This is customisable on the plasma config in. There is no ui to configure that
