A nasty thing of KDE is the noise that's produces. I want a desktop to be quiet as possible. Examples: - Don't inform me by a Pop Up, that KDE has connected with a wireless network after I rebooted my laptop, because this is something I am expecting anyway. - Don't inform me by a Pop Up, that a file has been copied. Show the progress within Dolphin and disappear when the progress is completed. See Gnome 3.20+ as an example. Reproducible: Always
Please only report a single issue in a bug report. The file copy notification is no longer persistent (won't fill up your history) if the file transfer finished successfully. As for the Wifi notification, it won't show it if you wake up from suspend and you re-connect to the same network; not sure about what to do when rebooting. Adding usability group.
I think that we should register the transfer job notifications in the notifications KCM, so that users can configure themselves what they want to be notified about. I'd keep notifications for completed transfers by default (non-permanent), though. As for the WiFi: Stefano does have a point: One can easily tell whether the WiFi has been connected yet by a quick glance at the Plasmoid, so why notifying about something which is expected to happen? A notification should only be thrown if the connection fails.
I believe both of these are now possible. You can disable popup notification of connecting to a network (I do this so can confirm). File transfer popups automatically disappear. I've set the status of this feature request to "needsinfo" pending your response, please change back to "reported" or "resolved" when you respond, thanks.
