Not in the Task Manger.

this seems to be the weather widget trying to be non square, while the systray only supports square widgets.
I would really like to keep it only support square items, so could be the weather applet changed?
Comment 4 Friedrich W. H. Kossebau 2016-08-23 16:38:31 UTC
By the look (style and temperate displayed next to symbol) this is not the kdeplasma-addons weather applet, but clearmartin's Weather Widget, e.g. found on https://www.kde-look.org/p/998917/ .
So assigning this back to systemtray product, as that desire for square-only items in the systray needs to be either enforced or dropped over there, given 3rd-party otherwise has no clue about that.

Perhaps there needs to be some Plasmoid.systemtrayRepresentation, so applets which otherwise in compact representation would be non-square could offer another presentation when put into the systemtray.

After all I plan to follow with kdeplasma-addon's weather widget what clearmartin's widget does, so while right now the kdeplasma-addon weather widget is square in compact representation, it soon no longer will be.

one thing i may add is a new formfactor, as horizontal means "can grow left and right, constrained vertically" vertical "can grow vertically, constrained horizontally"
i can add a "constrained", constrained both horizontally and vertically.

My systray is garbled too, and I don't use a weather widget. I've added spacers before and after so they won't overlap the other stuff on the panel.

If I left-click anywhere in the systray I get the "Status and Notifications"-dialog. If I don't have the spacers above the entire tray goes all the way up and the top part disappears so maybe the cause is it having zero height. Both spacers partially overlap the systray as well.

KDE noen 5.14.

Is this issue still affecting you? Can you add more info, especially the name (and link, if available) to the misbehaving applet?
