The rectangle selection bug seems to be partially back: 

Whenever you choose the rectangle selection and only select a small area  (in my case: the popup of taskmanager) no preview is shown. However, if you save the image the contents are actually there.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open spectacle
2. Choose rectangle region
3. Take screenshot of smaller region


Actual Results:  
No preview  (empty area) available, saving the image, however, works

Expected Results:  
Preview available

This seems to only happen with rectangle selection, I can't reproduce it with e.g. current window and a very small window.

Spectacle is 16.04.3 from gentoo, GPU is nvidia (because that mattered in the last similar bug, where contents where not saved however)
