When hovering over an image, the "Who is this?" tagger pops up, and allows text input. However, there is a difference between hovering over and having clicked in the text box. Both accept text, but if you have not clicked in the text box all the shortcut keys are active, and while typing in the name of the person you are sure to hit some sort of hotkey. Text input should either be disabled in hover over mode until the text field is clicked, or the hotkeys disabled. It took me quite a while to figure out what I was doing wrong here, and I am sure I am not the first one. Reproducible: Always
What do you mean by the shortcut key are active while hovering ? what's the weird behavior here. Hovering, typing new face tags and press enter validate face tagging in database as expected. No problem can be reproduced here while this workflow... Gilles Caulier
Just to be clear : in icon view face tagging, the problem is not reproducible. In preview face tagging, yes, there is a problem already reported in bug #284780. This report is for icon view or preview face tagging ? Gilles Caulier
I'm willing to work on this issue given minimal direction from core developers.
Created attachment 101402 [details] Screen capture showing the issue Hi there. . Just pulled a git master of DigiKam. 2016-10-04. The attached video is showing the undesired behavior. When typing in the names in the photo previews, it seems to activate shortcuts based on the keyboard input. Some names work, some don't. The last name my keyboard input was not even echoed in the text field. When typing in that field, all keyboard shortcuts should be disabled. -Evert-
7.0.0-beta1 is out with new Face Recognition algorithm based on Deep Learning/Neural Network API from OpenCV https://download.kde.org/unstable/digikam/ Please test and give us a feedback Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier
Definitively, this problem is not reproducible with 7.0.0-beta1. I close this file now. Feel free to re-open it if necessary. Gilles Caulier
