In previous version, when all icons in systray were displayed, they were aligned right next to clock. In plasma 5.7 there is blank space (probably replacing "show hidden" arrow).

I can confirm this bug on Antergos (Arch-based) running plasma 5.7.2.

Same problem in KaOS, (i have tested kde neon, kubuntu, antergos have the same bug)

[System Tray] Don't reserve space for expander if it's not visible

If all system tray icons are visible the arrow would hide but the reserved
space for the system tray would not change leavnig a gap.
