Description idoitprone 2016-07-12 13:24:21 UTC
Broken on Opensuse 42.1 kde

I can somewhat reliability crash the desktop shell on kde which means I can also reliably reproduce the installation failure of debug symbols in drkonqi. I would report the other crash but dr konqi is complaining that there isnt any useful information since I cannot install debug symbols

This is the dialog copied from the popup console as presented from the install debug symbols button

root's password:

Resolving package dependencies...

Nothing to do.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. crash any kde program
2. Click developer information
3. click install debug symbols
4. enter your root password

Actual Results:
pop says that debug symbols installation has failed

Expected Results:
I should be able to continue reporting whatever bug.

Seems like a downstream problem with packaging

Did you enable the debug repos?
The debug packages are not in the standard repos.

In any case, this is not a KDE problem.

Yours was http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=990353, right?
A different problem, that should be "fixed" now.
