Description Unknown 2016-07-11 16:46:35 UTC
I created a project about a week ago, but then in the latest git master build, opening the project showed that the composite tracks feature isn't working. The composite icons are also missing. Creating a new project shows composite tracks just fine. frei0r package is also installed.

Reproducible: Always

Bug discovered while using Kdenlive git master via ppa:kdenlive/kdenlive-master.
Linux Mint 18, Cinnamon 3.0.2.
KDE Framkework 5.18.0

Could you attach or send me the project file that does not have the composite transition ?
Comment 2 Wegwerf 2016-07-14 19:14:11 UTC
Hmm ... looks like the Kdenlive project I had to manually edit this day in order to add new tracks while JBM was hunting down the bug causing Kdenlive to hang on insert track. By manually adding a new playlist (=track) and wiring it up to the "main bin" tractor I got my track, but without the compositing control. Not that I really cared for implicit track opacity, it just broke the regular track control visual rhythm... :)

I attached an example for review. Let me know if there are any other files I can provide.

It's not a huge bug by any means, so if it takes a while to get to, it's all good. Definitely prefer time spent on bigger program stability fixes. :)

Jesse, using my project Analyzer, I've found many of my projects to have issues with transparent track setup and audio mixing. Luckily, as Jean-Baptiste became aware of the size of this issue, he added to the recent beta 16.7.90 a new behind-the-scenes feature: the "timeline compositing" selector. You should see it in the timeline toolbar, otherwise add it manually. Then switch modes, and Kdenlive will rebuilt all its internally added track compositing transitions from ground up to a sane state. The old track-wise opacity is gone, as it was acting counter-intuitively when switching a track in between to opaque. Please see also here, scroll down to last section: http://thediveo-e.blogspot.de/2016/07/new-kdenlive-transition-composite-and.html

If this feature also fixes the bug for you, I would like to ask you to be so kind as to close this report. Thank you very much for your cooperation!

Jesse, is this bug still present with recent beta 16.07.90?

Wegwerf, I haven't had time to test the present project, but yeah no problem, I can close this and give a more detailed report of something similar arises.
