During package upgrade, a new required dependency, kholidays, was installed. Clicking on the Digital Clock widget now displays a large area with nothing in it but the date and "No events for today" to the left of the calendar. I checked Digital Clock settings, and see no way to turn off this off. Not sure if this is a packaging issue on the Arch side or intended behavior by KDE. $ pacman -Qi kholidays Name : kholidays Version : 16.04.2-2 Description : KDE library for regional holiday information Architecture : x86_64 URL : https://community.kde.org/KDE_PIM Licenses : LGPL Groups : None Provides : None Depends On : qt5-base Optional Deps : qt5-declarative: QML bindings [installed] Required By : plasma-workspace Optional For : None Conflicts With : None Replaces : None Installed Size : 756.00 KiB Packager : Antonio Rojas <arojas@archlinux.org> Build Date : Thu 23 Jun 2016 02:57:42 PM EDT Install Date : Fri 08 Jul 2016 08:42:12 PM EDT Install Reason : Installed as a dependency for another package Install Script : No Validated By : Signature $ pacman -Qi plasma-workspace Name : plasma-workspace Version : 5.7.0-1 Description : KDE Plasma Workspace Architecture : x86_64 URL : https://www.kde.org/workspaces/plasmadesktop/ Licenses : LGPL Groups : plasma Provides : None Depends On : kjsembed knotifyconfig libxdamage libksysguard ktexteditor libqalculate qt5-tools kde-cli-tools xorg-xrdb xorg-xsetroot iso-codes kactivitymanagerd kholidays xorg-xmessage xorg-xprop milou prison-frameworks kwin plasma-integration kuiserver Optional Deps : plasma-workspace-wallpapers: additional wallpapers gpsd: GPS based geolocation networkmanager-qt: IP based geolocation [installed] Required By : kdeplasma-addons khotkeys plasma-mediacenter plasma-nm plasma-pa powerdevil Optional For : dolphin openbox Conflicts With : kdebase-workspace Replaces : None Installed Size : 30.70 MiB Packager : Antonio Rojas <arojas@archlinux.org> Build Date : Fri 01 Jul 2016 06:31:43 PM EDT Install Date : Fri 08 Jul 2016 08:42:13 PM EDT Install Reason : Explicitly installed Install Script : No Validated By : Signature Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. This is not really related to kholidays, but is a (much-awaited) change in Plasma's calendar applet to show holidays (using kholidays) and other events again like in KDE4. The "problem" you report has already been "fixed", in 5.7.1 that "agenda view" will be hidden if no event plugins are enabled.
