Magic lamp effect used to raise/minimize window from/to taskbar item. Now it goes to mouse position instead. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enable magic lamp effect 2. Minimize window using hotkey. Actual Results: Window disappears either into mouse position directly or into edge point that is closest to mouse. Expected Results: Window should disappear into taskbar item of that window.
please provide the output of "xprop" on a window that doesn't work (run the command in konsole and click the window when the cursor turns into a "+")
Created attachment 100001 [details] Firefox xprop output This happens both when window is maximized and not.
The xprop output does not have an icon geometry set. From KWin side the behavior is correct then. It doesn't know where to minimize to. Reassigning to Plasma for investigating why the icon geometry doesn't get set.
Do you have any more steps to reproduce? We need to nail down the circumstances in which it doesn't get set (it's not a general problem).
Created attachment 100004 [details] Good and bad xprops I outsmarted myself, sorry. Thought icons are not relevant thus i omitted them. I uploaded archive with two (full) xprop logs of firefox and thunderbird. Curiously this time firefox behaves correctly while thunderbird gets minimized to closest edge.
The same issue, but with standart minimize effect. Windows like dolphin and systemsettings are minimizing to the center of screen, not to panel. Archlinux, plasma 5.7.1.
