Description Momoe 2016-07-09 02:31:34 UTC
When click-dragging an item in KDE Plasma, the grabbed object will let go over a period of time, or if the dragged item is moved back and forth. This happens all the time for long dragged clicks.

I am using a generic Dell usb wired mouse, with no bells and whistles.

This is especially annoying when selecting groups of files and dragging them to another folder, only to have them fall short into an unintentional directory.

Another example is when inside of a 3d enviorment, and click-dragging to pan around a selected object, will suddenly lose the anchor point and start panning around another point instead.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Default mouse settings
2. Click and drag a file/folder, slowly or quickly, back and forth
3. See said file fall into random folder in between
4. Scream obscenities at monitor
5. Throw mouse at monitor, cracking the screen.
6. Cry for an hour because you have work to do on a broken monitor now.

Actual Results:
Dragged object will suddently release mid way.

Expected Results:
Don't let go of my dragged item until I let go of the mouse button!!!

((Didn't actually crack the monitor there, but plenty of rage to go around.))

Hello, this report has managed to live for four years somehow and your raging steps to reproduce still got me surprised and made me laugh out loud.
Sorry this issue happened to you though :(
I just tested this on current master and didn't manage to reproduce it.
Can you still reproduce it? With just steps 1 and 2, of course!
