After updating my packages, I found that I am no longer able to change my desktop wallpaper via "Desktop Settings" when right clicking the desktop. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Update using "sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade" 2. Restart computer 3. Right click desktop and see no menu Actual Results: No menu appeared. Expected Results: A menu should appear.
Can you run plasmashell from console and see if you notice anything suspicious? Can you attach your ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc? Perhaps somehow the desktop action for context menu got lost. You should be able to access the menu by clicking the toolbox (the three dots in the corner of your desktop). Check what it says in "Desktop Actions", ie. if there's a "Default menu" action assigned to the right mouse button. Thanks.

Check what it says in "Desktop > Actions", ie. if there's a "Default menu" action assigned to the right mouse > button. Thanks. I've gotten rid of the toolbox on my main activity, so there's really no way I can open desktop settings other than opening a new activity. Running plasmashell didn't print anything, but here's what I got immediately after doing "kquitapp plasmashell && kstart plasmashell": >http://pastebin.com/iXL4zkHS Leaving it running gives me: >QXcbConnection: XCB error: 2 (BadValue), sequence: 3217, resource id: 25165828, major code: 142 (Unknown), minor code: 3 >QXcbConnection: XCB error: 2 (BadValue), sequence: 3388, resource id: 123732016, major code: 142 (Unknown), minor code: 3 >etc
I'm also not getting a menu explicitly titled "Desktop Actions" from the toolbox, but in "Desktop Settings, there's nothing set in "Mouse Actions" besides a button called "Add Action" that changes to "Input Here" when pressed, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
It expects you to input the desired mouse button there, ie. right click "input here"
(In reply to Kai Uwe Broulik from comment #5) > It expects you to input the desired mouse button there, ie. right click > "input here" I tried doing that, but nothing happened after I right clicked "Input Here".

Looks like it's still broken even after a full reinstall of Debian and KDE. Coincidentally, my notifications widget doesn't work, before and after I reinstalled.
I was able to fix my problem by updating libkf5plasma5 from version 5.22 to 5.23.
