One of many multimonitor headaches. I'm rolling on Plasma 5.7 final, Qt5.7, KF5 2.23. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. plug external (VGA) screen 2. reboot 3. close laptop (primary screen) lid 4. reopen lid Actual Results: Plasma Panel disappears from laptop primary screen (while it is wrongly always displayed on external VGA) If you the unplug the external screen, you have no more Panel! Expected Results: Plasma Panel is shown on laptop primary screen (while it should be shown on external VGA only on laptop lid closed) see my other Kscreen report https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365144
I managed to have back the Panel from external VGA monitor to primary laptop screen. I edited "external" panel and moved to primary screen. Fond that there was hidden a second copy of the panel under it. I was able to move it around and, fortunately, with no more panels found behind it. I moved back "primary" Panel to external screen, and it crashed. I moved the second "external" Panel back to primary screen in place of the crashed one, and it crashed. Now in primary screen there is the haunted space of the ghost of the old first panel.
ok, disabled external display, logged out, logged in, panel present in primary screen. Wait, 2 panels present in primary screen.
I confirm this. External monitor: Primary screen Numer of panels: 1 I close the lid, the panel disappers from the external monitor. I reopen the lid, the panel appears again.
Needs retesting with master / 5.8, this bug is most likely fixed.
Fixed for me in Plasma 5.8.2.
